Nowra Private Hospital commenced its Rehabilitation programs in October 2005 and our admissions have steadily grown

An admission to a Rehabilitation Program at Nowra Private Hospital could provide an opportunity for a person's functional ability to be improved. The patient who attends a rehabilitation program needs to be medically stable and not be requiring treatment which may interrupt his or her ability to attend to a therapy program.

A large proportion of our admissions are through elective orthopaedic joint surgery, not only from our local Shoalhaven area, many referrals are also generated from the far south coast

We have two Rehabilitation Physicians who are able to provide a range of services including follow on care after discharge; with each Physician having his own scope of interest and expertise in rehabilitation

Patients who are referred for rehabilitation are required to have achievable goals which are determined prior to their admission.

Our Medical and Surgical Reconditioning Programs appreciate that a person can become de-conditioned quickly. We offer a Reconditioning Program of intensive therapy to help strengthen and restore a person's potential to optimise their level of independence.

We believe all patients should be offered an opportunity to reach their optimal potential and with Rehabilitation being therapy focused, it can make a positive difference.
