Dr Spencer Murray is a Urologist, a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (RACS) and member of the Urological Society of Australasia (USANZ).
Dr Murray has opened an independent local Urology practice, Spencer Murray Urology, and provides all consulting and operating services at Nowra Private Hospital. Dr Murray's Practice aims to provide the highest standard of Urological care possible to all patients. He takes great pride in providing the most comprehensive and up to date care available.
After Dr Murray’s initial surgical training and first part surgical exams across southern England, he emigrated with Kate, his Tasmanian born wife, to Melbourne. They have a daughter and a son. He took up position as the inaugural Urology registrar at Frankston Hospital on the Mornington Peninsular. This appointment involved in assisting the hospital gaining post accreditation with RACS & USANZ.
He was then appointed first to the advanced general surgical scheme and then the following year to the advanced Urological scheme. His training has involved placement at teaching hospitals In Melbourne, Hobart and Sydney. He passed his fellowship exams in 2012. His final year of training taking place at Wollongong.
He provides ‘contemporary urology’ to the area and offers urological assessments that range from simple medical and lifestyle management, up to advanced endoscopic / laparoscopic surgery. Dr Murray has experience in Greenlight laser prostate surgery and laser renal stone Surgery which is routinely performed at Nowra Private Hospital.
He is interested in functional Urology, information on the latest Urological medications, Botox Injections for poor Bladder volume, diagnosis and management of, uro-oncology- Renal, Prostate, Bladder, testicular, penile, stone disease and Lower Urinary Tract Symptoms (LUTS). All simple (lower tract) endoscopic procedures, including trans urethral prostatectomies (both Laser and standard bipolar loop) ,and bladder tumours, vasectomies and scrotal surgery can be performed in Nowra.
Dr Murray enjoys volunteering at his local Surf Lifesaving Club. You’ll find him walking his two long haired Dachshunds named Ginger and Olive .
