Dr Davenport is a Rehabilitation Physician living and working in the Shoalhaven Area. He Davenport graduated from University of New South Wales undergraduate medical program with First Class Honours in 1999 and was awarded the Prize for Practical Anatomy and also the Maurice Toby Arnold Prize for Anatomy. After completing his internship and residency at St George Hospital, he joined the training program for Rehabilitation Medicine and worked in a number of hospitals in Sydney during his registrar training.
He gained sub-specialty experience whilst working in the Spinal Injuries Unit and the Brain Injuries Unit at Royal Rehabilitation Centre Ryde. At graduation, Dr Davenport was awarded the Basmajian Prize for Best Overall Performance in Fellowship Clinical Exams in the specialty of Rehabilitation.
Dr Davenport has been working in Nowra since 2006, and currently holds a position as Senior Staff Specialist in Rehabilitation Medicine at Shoalhaven District Memorial Hospital and David Berry Hospital. He currently conducts the Spinal Cord Injuries clinic, Prosthetics and Orthotics clinic, and Spasticity Management clinic at Shoalhaven Hospital.
Dr Davenport has an interest in musculoskeletal medicine and chronic pain management, spasticity sanagement, and neurological rehabilitation. He also holds qualifications in Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine. He has been teaching Tai Chi and Qigong Therapeutic exercises for a number of years in Nowra.
Dr Davenport has been admitting patients to Nowra Private Hospital since 2008.
